Gay Originality
Gay's originality
These days "gay rights" have been another central focus, like economy, in USA and almost around the globe. But I still don't get it! What is the gay's originality? How did gay/homosexuality been introduced in human being society? I've done little research and I couldn't find any real source of this new non-straight society. So I decided to create this post and share my thoughts and see if any one out there can help me understand gay's originality. May be we may be able get along with our fellow non-straight brothers and sisters.
Anyway what I'm writing here is my own thinking and opinion about homosexuality or gay in formal way. When I grew up, I learned that homosexuality was practiced in some male prisons where men sleep in the same cell for years and have no any other options for sexual pleasure and end up helping one another! I heard that years back while I was still in my mother country, Rwanda in Africa. However, they use to say that any prisoners, who were caught in homosexual activities, were severely punished and put in their own cells, and separated from other prisoners. So, by then I thought, well, they (prisoners) might have a reason for that and practically I did not know what really was involved in homosexual activities! And I still don't know and surely I'm not interested in knowing that!
So, when I arrived in USA, I started learning that homosexuality is freely practiced as well as straight sexuality between two opposite sex. I was impressed and somehow shocked. How could that be in a wealthy, educated, powerful country, with the most civilized and intellectual people in the world? Well, I also learned that it doesn't matter who you are or what you know or do to be gay or straight. Honestly, the first thing I saw right up the front was lesbian couple walking down the street, kissing and holding hands and I was like huh... they really exist! And I started googling more and found out that female homosexual were more practiced and many straight guys enjoy watching then making up...OK, from that perspective, I thought...it's about entertainment then! Well, my focus was to find new life in this country and get on my feet and start dealing with real life in USA, so I did not care about all that that much, but kept it in mind.
Few years later, homosexuality become at large here in USA, gay rallies, associations and unions were created, TV shows, etc. And now it's has become a large number in USA and all around the world, and now, it's about the LAW, their rights and freedom. Some states have legalized the gay marriage and others are still working on it. In USA, gay community has been fortified and become as solid as never before. People have come to the point where religion, parents and siblings are their second choice when it comes to gay norms, views and its impact toward our straight community which was created from the beginning of the humanity. But hey, everyone has freedom to do whatever they feel is right and desirable for their own life. It is their choice and if it is wrong or right, the Creator will judge that.
Overall, I'm still wondering if our "straight" society/community, in which gay people used to be part of, is being fair, wrong or conservative when it comes to accept and legalize their rights and openly welcome this new image in our human society. To me, no matter what anyone else would say, gay community is part of human society. But because the human society was entirely composed with "straight" community at the most, should we really fight or hate each other because of the new gay community? Personally, I don't think so, because there might a reason, and we (humans) don’t know it! But, but... we should consider the danger and impact of such acceptance in today's lifestyle. So, that last statement brings me back to the tile of this post; how did homosexual got introduced in our human society? Does anyone know where, how and when such love between man to man and woman to woman came from?
